Agricultural Investment Project – Farmland & Greenhouse
Step 1 – Project Development
FARMLAND SELECTION
Selecting accurate farmland is one of the most important steps for project creation. Furthermore for selecting the correct land, soil quality, water quality / quantity and legal clearance must be checked comprehensively.
Due to positive feedback of experienced agricultural engineers, supported by soil and water analysis from the labs, and positive feedback on legal checks, AIM Greenhouse selects the best farmland for investors.
LAND PREPARATION
Entire necessary developments to make the project farmland ready for construction and plantation.
Cleaning the farmland from wild bushes and trees, laser leveling for elevation, water and electricity infrastructures, water storage / pool, filter, liquid fertilizer tank, labour house and furniture, also soil enrichment by initial organic fertilizing are crucial required land preparation steps.
GREENHOUSE CONSTRUCTION
Greenhouses are essential to create optimum growing environment (O.G.E.), best product quality and higher quantity production.
Greenhouse specifications;
Stainless galvanize sticks to survive against high humidity levels, two layers of high quality greenhouse covers, raining, steaming and drip irrigation systems, ventilation panels on sides and roof and all systems connected to the automation system that can be monitored and controlled from single control panel.
PLANTATION
Following the completion of farmland selection, land prepreation and greenhouse construction, banana plants will be planted in March or August.
Optimum plantation measurements to create the highest productivity are 3 m x 1,85 m. Therefore 180 (± 5%) banana plants at each 1.000 sqm. Plants give the first harvest 13 months after plantation. Second and other harvests are every 8 months. Consequently 3 harvest at 2 years.

Step 3 – Project Management
OPERATION
Projects are managed successfully by dedicated team members with professional manner.
Every project has private full-time labour for executing watering and fertilizing schedule as well as security. Agricultural engineers direct each labour and visit the projects couple times in a week. In order to maintain optimum growing environment (O.G.E.), temperature and humidity levels are observed and controlled at all time.
PRODUCTIVITY
Modern banana greenhouses produce high quantity of quality products.
According to Turkish Republic Statistical Institute (TUIK), average production of entire 60 million sqm banana greenhouse area is calculated as 8 tons per thousand sqm. Observations show that thanks to the greenhouse and operation quality, production can be increased up to 12 tons per thousand sqm.
BANANA SALE PRICE
Due to high shortage of the market, banana whole sale prices from the greenhouse are increasing continuously.
Turkey imports most of its banana consumption from other countries. For that reason banana sale prices are indexed to USD currency. There is high demand and ready buyers on the market all the time. Today’s banana whole sale price from greenhouse is changing between 5-8 Turkish Lira per kg.
OPERATION COSTS
To cultivate healthy banana greenhouse project, there are multiple annual cost items.
Proper liquid and hard fertilizer, medicine, daily workers, water and electricity consumption costs 5.000 TL per each thousand sqm of the project. With the assistance of the modern greenhouses, one permanent labour can look after up to 20 thousand sqm project area. In this perspective, the cost of private labour is 30.000 TL annually regardless of the project size. Also service fee of the AIM Greenhouse for management of the Project is 20% of the net harvest income.
